Meteorology - Training Programme

The Meteorology training covers all the aspects of the written examination as well as practical methods of interpreting the weather forcast.

The training assumes that the candidate has read the Pre-Course Study Material and has a basic understanding of that material.

The course is conducted by a PPL Examiner who will guide the candidates through the course material ensuring that all the relevant areas are covered in depth including practical examples of weather analysis using TAFs and METARs.

The course is not specific to Aeroplane or Helicopter pilots.

At the end of the second day of training the candidate may take the written examination. However, in our experience it is better to go away and complete some self study prior to taking the examination. This allows time for the tuition to be fully absorbed.

The training is conducted at On-Track Aviation premises at Wellesbourne Mountford Aerodrome near Stratford-Upon-Avon, Warwickshire.

Training can be conducted at your own flying club - please contact On-Track Aviation for details.
